Impatient Sufferers of New York, Unite! At the end of the month there will be a toy theater festival in DUMBO, Brooklyn. There will be a week of performances by exceptional puppeteers from around the world. I’m certain anyone in the city who finds a moment to attend any of the performances will be glad [...]

A video has just surfaced of Clinton adviser Mickey Kantor sharing his candid views on the good voters of Indiana. It fills in more of the picture of a Clinton camp filled with people who feel it’s her turn  to be our next President. Though the video is years old, it says a lot about [...]

Though Obama currently seems a bit overshadowed by the train wreck caused by Rev. Wrights recent appearance at the National Press Club, it’s worth noting that despite the bad news cycle he continues to tack on super delegates. By this metric he is closing the gap with Clinton, now trailing by only 265 to 243. [...]

In case some of you just pay no attention to the world of video games, there’s a new game launching late tonight that’s generating a wee bit of buzz. The newest version of Grand Theft Auto, GTA IV, comes out at midnight and is sure to bring the usual hand wringing from groups afraid of [...]

Historical Warnings

The (mis)management of the Iraq war has revealed the government’s increasing reliance on private military contractors (such as Lockheed, Blackwater and KBR) to provide cost-effective logistical and equipment support to our troops. However, these organizations have breached the public trust in their pursuit of profit. Since 2003, dubious billing practices, wasteful management and [...]

A recent study suggests that drought nearly wiped out our species about 70,000 years ago. At the time, humans lived in isolated areas in Africa, and could have numbered as few as 2,000. “Truly an epic drama, written in our DNA,” says Spencer Wells, National Geographic Society explorer in residence.

We relish the opportunities to discuss something genuinely positive here at Impatient Sufferance. We recently commended the US for seeking to block a shipment of arms from China destined for Mugabe in Zimbabwe. Well, the effort was successful and the ship is sailing back to China, guns in tow. Though it is unclear whether Mugabe [...]

Though the first DivX phone hit the market almost a year ago, we are always glad to see more devices adopt open file standards. The DivX codec is a lightweight, high quality encoder for video files. The more devices that support it, the sooner we will achieve a future where content is quickly easily digitally [...]

There’s a reason that Dohiyi Mir sits on the blog roll, providing easy access for all you Impatient Sufferers and it’s not just because NTodd blogs from my home state of Vermont. He is sometimes so biting and concise that I can do little more than tip my hat and post a quick hit, so [...]

Pats trademark what they can’t accomplish

We have seen some pretty silly stuff in the way of copyright issues recently. This takes the cake though. The New England Patriots went 18-1, loosing to my NY Football Giants in the Superbowl last season. They were close enough to taste the sweetness of a perfect 19-0 season and apparently that taste wasn’t enough.
As [...]
