Truckers plan strike
Our economy depends on the swift movement of goods across great distances. Since we’ve largely abandoned our railroad system we’re left highly dependent on large trucks to move our products across the country. Recently the diesel fuel these trucks run on has risen in cost to around $4 per gallon and as so often happens, the little guys, the drivers themselves are left to bear the burden. Some truckers are no longer able to support their families because of this and have decided to strike. There has been no real policy to deal with the rapid rise in gas prices nor to deal with the decline in the dollar. Both of these things will eventually bite us in the wallet and hard.
